FOR ADULT CHILDREN AND SIBLINGS AGES 18–29

PREVENT MS Feasibility Study

The current research study

01

Who may be able to participate?

The feasibility study is for adults ages 18–29 who have a biological parent or sibling diagnosed with MS. Other health information may also affect whether you can participate.

02

What does taking part involve?

You will complete a study questionnaire, have a blood draw at your home or another agreed location, and have genetic and EBV antibody testing. The study includes one remote visit and takes about 1–2 hours.

03

Do I need to travel to UCSF?

No. Participation is fully remote. The questionnaire can be completed remotely, and a trained healthcare professional will come to your home or another agreed location to draw your blood.

04

Will I receive a vaccine?

No. No vaccine is given as part of the current PREVENT MS Feasibility Study. A possible future EBV vaccine study would be a separate research study.

05

Is taking part voluntary?

Yes. Taking part is your choice. You can decide whether you want to participate.
